13. Release
The Power of Release or Renunciation allows us to renounce, eliminate or let go of all guilt and unforgiveness towards others and ourselves so that we can let God’s peace into our lives. The Fillmores explain this power like this: “Thoughts are things; they occupy space in the mental field. A healthy state of mind is attained and continued when the thinker willingly lets go the old thoughts and takes on the new.” They also believe that, “Spirit will find a way to lead you when you have freely and fully dedicated yourself to God, and you will be led in a path just a little different from that of anyone else.”
Gratitude Comes from the Soul *Release, gratitude, love, forgiveness, light
Gratitude comes from the soul.
It does not need to be earned
Since giving it freely heals the mind and heart.
True gratitude does not allow victimhood or false pride
to enter its sacred space.
It comes with such an upwelling of love
that forgiveness must inevitably follow.
It allows for the release of the heavy and deeply buried emotion of guilt,
dripping with regret and sorrow.
Gratitude is guilt dismantled, transformed
and released back to the Light and the Cosmos.

Starbursts of Light *Release, light, energy, awakening, joy
Light energy seeps from my every pore
in white, silky strands,
twisting, spiraling into infinity,
connecting my soul to the Universe,
reflecting my joy for being alive.
I focus on what makes my heart sing,
how I need to awaken my unspoken nature,
fulfill my deepest desire for expression
and finally declare to the world
that I have broken through my creative shell.
Now I can ride my light strands
on my holy spiral inward,
burrowing them into my soul
to illuminate the images
that motivate it, challenge it,
all the while hoping to energize
my creative spirit’s emergence.
I tap into my inner, sweet child,
longing to express and share
my newfound joy of discovery
so I can make my light available to others
who might wish to experience it.

The Philosophy of More *Release, love, joy, Oneness, light, peace
Our lives are obsessed with judgments of others,
the world around us and, ultimately, ourselves.
These dark thoughts can only lead to more separation and pain.
It is a Philosophy of Less
that hangs around our necks like an anvil,
blackened and dented by a lifetime of blows.
As we enter this new Age of Aquarius,
it is time to release this weight of loss and separation,
time to understand how much our thoughts influence the universe,
time to adopt the Philosophy of More—more love, more joy,
more Oneness with All that Is.
We are not bound by the past,
by the burdens and heartaches that used to define us.
We release them as light to open our hearts
to a new anticipation of the peace and happiness
we can bring to our souls.

My silence is the space between words,
the void between heartbeats,
the moments I push my ego aside.
My silence allows me time to explore my creativity,
entice thoughts from my internal locked box
and into timeless, frozen sets of words.

Chaos to Creation *Release, choices
Chaos to creation, beginning to end,
one leads to the other and back again.
The cycle of life, allowing things to unfold,
time pushes us forward until we get old.
There’s so much to life we want to hold dear.
Giving it up is the chaos we fear.
It precedes our entry into a new life
where we must start over with new sources of strife.
It all seems so pointless until we agree
that the choices we make allow us to be free.

Attraction’s Interaction *Release, love, light
The Law of Attraction
requires interaction
with our past actions
that we answer for.
The things that we learned
and the times we got burned
are just what we’ve earned
since our Karma was poor.
But now we know
if we get into the flow
with love—not ego—
that we’re bound to soar.
We can drink in the Light,
make everything right
and get out of the fight
by learning to love more.

Cosmic Humor *Release, control, surrender, light, peace, humility
The Cosmic sense of humor makes itself known to all.
It feeds on our illusions that we’re too big to fall.
It lets us think we’re in control before it pulls the rug
from under our mere human feet since it knows IT’S the plug.
The Universe will always be the One that calls the shots;
we only think we have it made but it’s what ties our knots.
God lets us try to figure out what might be ours to do:
what’s right or wrong or in between or maybe from the blue.
If we take ourselves too seriously though and think WE’RE all we need,
the Universe will poke a hole just to see how much we’ll bleed.
We have to see the humor that the Universe employs
or find ourselves repeating the things that destroy our poise.
Once we understand how puny we are in the scheme of things
and surrender our will to heaven and the peace it surely brings,
we find that paths will open that we couldn’t see before
because our egos made us think that we were SO much more.
So when we’re brought down to our knees with nowhere else to go,
we’re finally open to the Light and our peace of mind will show.
We learn that all we need is trust that God is on our side
to find our lives are rich and full when humility becomes our guide.

Being Human *Release, transformation, Oneness, light, enlightenment
It is so hard to be human
and look for what’s wrong everywhere.
I want to transform my vibration
to show the Universe I care.
I don’t want to see we’re all different
because we’re the same in the end.
There’s no heaven or hell in our Oneness
and I want to be everyone’s friend.
I long for God’s golden light
that will open up my mind
to be at One with the Cosmos
and leave my humanity behind.
My higher self has been waiting
for me to ignite my soul
and upgrade my operating system
so I can reach enlightenment’s goal.

Anxiety *Release, truth, love, peace
Anxiety looms like a pregnant beast.
I fear to rouse it for what it may lay upon me,
for what I may have to bear
as a result of random thoughts or words.
I ease my panic by breathing deeply,
the cleansing air dissipating
my competing, tumultuous mental images.
My mind shows its pace
and allows me to acknowledge
that they were not my thoughts or words at all—
merely manifestations of All that Is,
a physical expression of Truths
that were borne through me but not of me.
I am, after all, a spiritual being
having a human experience.
I know that all will be well,
that the magma of love and ecstasy within me
will spew forth from my transitory consciousness
and create new islands of peace to soothe my soul.

The Hero’s Journey *Release, life
All heroes go through hell
no matter how worthy their fight.
By losing something precious
they go through a very dark night.
The process of returning home
and rebuilding their lives again
makes them better people
who’ve learned that they want to win.
We’re all on this same journey
to overcome trials and strife.
Each path may be rock-strewn and bumpy
but it’s what gives meaning to life.
The end may not be where we thought
that we were supposed to go,
but hindsight will surely attest
that strife was what helped us to grow.

The Song of my Soul *Release
My Dharma tells me what I’m meant to do
if Heaven’s my goal to win.
It’s not a reflection of what I think—
it’s a projection of my Light within.
I used to reach out to take what I wished
and unhappiness was my reward.
But I’ve learned to accept my own Divine Light
and share it through infinite shards.
My consciousness expresses itself through me
and my mind defines its form.
My thoughts have no power to change the world
until my Dharma and actions conform.
I listen each day to the Song of my Soul
to know if my expression is clear.
My ability to know what I’m supposed to do
is how I know Heaven is near.

Awakening’s Dance *Release, Awakening
Life can be painful and sacrifice can be hard—
the dance toward awakening’s begun.
If we look past the challenge, opportunity awaits
until our heroic journey’s done.
When others see the Presence we are,
our consciousness shines like a light.
The trials we face can be blessings for some,
but one soul’s blessing can be another’s blight.
The life-changing journey that is ours to take
belongs on this earth for life.
But our spirit’s journey is universe-wide—
and our reward for conquering strife.

An Inside Job *Release, peace
Winning and losing are all part of life—
some win and some lose all the time.
Winning doesn’t have to come after strife
and losing may not be a crime.
It all depends on how I see
and interpret what’s all around.
Winning may not bring what’s supposed to be
and sometimes losing gains ground.
Everything depends on how I see
the world in which I live.
I must decide what I want it to be
and how much love I have to give.
I don’t have to change the world’s path
to win inside my mind.
If losing spares me from someone’s wrath,
then peace is what I’ll find.
Happiness, after all, is an inside job
that winning can pull out of whack.
If the imbalance I make will serve to rob
my joy, then I’ll want peace back.

My Cosmic Insight *Release, Purpose
My purpose in life is no mystery—
I’ve discovered my passion in rhyme.
I’ve become a filter for the Sunday’s talks—
a translator for the Divine.
I download the words that drop into my mind
with no thought where they will lead.
My purpose is to scribe them down
so others can have them to read.
Once they’re found they’re just like clay—
I mold them one-by-one.
I can’t wait to see what they’ll say
since it’s my idea of fun.
It’s one of the mysteries in my life—
I don’t know why I write.
I just know it’s my gift to give—
I call it my Cosmic Insight.
