7. Power
Power itself is the fifth Power, and it suggests that we have dominion and control because Divine Power moves through us since God is the one presence and power in our lives. Charles and Cora Fillmore said that, “The mind and body of man have the power of transforming energy from one plane of consciousness to another. This is the power and dominion implanted in man from the beginning.” They also said that, “Man is the power of God in action. To man is given the highest power in the universe, the conscious power of thought. There is a universal creative force that urges man forward to a recognition of the creative power of his individual thought.”
My Spiritual Power *Power, awakening, peace, joy
My spiritual power is far greater than I ever could have imagined.
It has sustained me through my ongoing awakening process
in ways I never knew were possible.
It began with the profound words “You are completely at peace” prior to impact,
But, like a bell eternally ringing its sweet tone,
it has continued resonating in my soul.
It led me into the realms of energy healing,
prodding me gently as I mastered each new technique.
All the while it was teaching me how to heal myself both physically and spiritually.
When I had finally achieved my physical healing goals,
it directed me into the spiritual realm.
Where it will lead me from this point onward is the next stage in my journey.
I await this future with confidence and joy,
for I know that my spiritual power will always serve me well.

Acceptance is a Gift *Power, acceptance, light
Acceptance is a gift, a heartfelt extension
of our own magical state of mystery and wonder.
It is the opposite of judgment, guilt and shame.
Our state of accepting other people
reflects our inner light and beauty,
leading us to serene happiness and optimism for the future.
Acceptance removes death in the sense of an ending
and instead becomes a transformative extension
of our earthly spiritual life into the plane of infinity.

It’s Our Choice *Power, strength, honor, success, peace
We choose what we experience.
If we choose powerlessness,
we become victims of our own making.
If we choose strength, hope and joy,
we become masters of our fate.
If we act with honor and integrity,
we can set the conditions for own success.
Ownership of our thoughts and feelings
guides our reactions to the world around us
and ultimately gives us power and peace.

My Dream of Freedom *Power, freedom, love, peace, justice, forgiveness, transformation
I dream of freedom from hatred, fear and loss.
I dream of a world that comes together in love and peace.
I dream we will be delivered from this past week of violence and hate,
that we can purge our memory of the images of destruction and mayhem.
I dream that those who caused this destruction will be brought to justice
so that others in the future will know that such crimes have consequences.
I dream that I can come to forgive the terrorists who tried to trash our democracy
and their dear leader who spurred their deadly insurrection.
I know that they sincerely believed the lies they were fed
and are hurting as I did four years ago.
But they have no right to use deadly force to express themselves.
My dream of freedom does not include violence such as this.
It is full of compassion for their pain, for my pain and the pain of our nation.
I weep for us all in our agony, in our desolation.
I dream that we can find common ground if not love.
We share Spaceship Earth after all.
We are all we have in this Universe—one humanity, one world.
False prophets will not see this reality—they will seek to divide rather than to join.
We can only observe their ravings and strive to counter their effects.
We must transform ourselves to awaken to love and the purity of mind.
We are all in this together,
brothers and sisters united in our desire for a more perfect world.

Our Dream for America *Power, peace, love
We see America as a beacon for peace and love for the whole world.
We see renewed trust in our leaders, our neighbors and ourselves.
With love as our primary motivator for this vision,
we hold it for all peoples no matter how hardened they may be
by rage and victimization.
We see the whole world joining us in this prayer for peace and harmony,
a world newly awakened to love and compassion, one person at a time.
Today we launch a new era of peace, guided by God’s love
and our capacity to dream of a more elevated humanity
that is being birthed through the pain we have all experienced.

Everyone Is a Holy Person *Power, love, Oneness, healing
Everyone is a holy person every hour of every day.
Even when the ego fools us into thinking IT’s the only way.
It tries to hold our attention on our separateness from the Divine
and think we’re only our bodies, not part of Universal Design.
Instead we must turn the tables and start acting our holy man roles.
Our fear of death will then leave us and love will take over our souls.
We’ll learn to treat everyone kindly and see them as part of the One.
Our healing will become contagious and the salvation of the world begun.

God’s Superheroes Rap *Power, light, peace, forgiveness
Refrain:
We’re all superheroes in the eyes of God.
We are One with Him while He gives us the nod
to be ourselves and fulfill our role
to learn and to grow and enrich our souls.
His way is our own and His will be done—
our lives as superheroes have just begun.

The rhythm of the Universe ebbs and flows,
like an endless tide and the wind that blows.
It sings to our souls using multi-tonal love
and tiny bits of light showering down from above.
Our souls spread their wings to soar to Destiny
and our superhero senses give us new eyes to see.
God must be proud of His progeny
since He gave us this whole universe to teach us to agree
that the only way we can achieve His gift of peace
is to love each other in a way that cannot cease.
With forgiveness serving as the glue uniting all,
our superhero ears will be tuned to heed God’s call.

Obstacles are Our Friends *Power, love, acceptance, forgiveness
The obstacles before us are not meant to slow our pace.
Instead we overcome them to occupy new space.
Without having that resistance we cannot move ahead—
the new paths that we find lead us to new heights instead.
When an obstacle confronts us, our love will see us through.
With the help of others, we’ll find spiritual strength anew.
Love and acceptance are all we really need.
When an obstacle confronts us, we consider it a seed.
We water it with love and forgiveness helps it grow.
Obstacles are our friends more than we’ll ever know.

Claiming Our Hero Roles *Power, Oneness, consciousness
We’re floating in a Sea of Oneness
as we follow our cycles of life.
They circle our consciousness still-point
to return to when it gives us strife.
We cannot claim hero status
unless there’s an obstacle course.
If we avoid climbing the mountains,
we’ll never approach the Source.
If we refuse our calling
and try to swim out of our Sea,
our quest to be whole and alive
will rarely end spiritually.
Only through suffering and pain
can we challenge and nurture our souls
to find our sense of Self
and assume our hero roles.

Eddies and Currents *Power, peace, control
I am a citizen of the world,
serenely weathering the storms of confusion
like a cork in water.
I weave and bob as the currents pull me
first one direction and then another,
always seeming to lure me
into the comforting still waters of certainty and truth.
But it is all an illusion,
each new eddy of peace,
for soon another wave callously pulls me away
into a new trough of hope and confusion.
Wherever I to go
doesn’t matter to the fish below
whether I bob to the left or right,
up or down, or remain upright and rigid.
To them I am either food or a passing shadow,
briefly darkening the sun and then disappearing
as though I never existed.
I am steering my own vessel.
Silly me, I just think I control where I am going
and what my ultimate destination will be.
But the fish just swim where they will,
chasing their own shadows and living their brief lives,
oblivious to my existence.
Sometimes I nudge other corks for a brief moment,
each of us doing our own serene dance,
in unison for awhile, then slipping apart,
snared by a new, even more insistent wave
or drawn into a new current,
all the while floating towards uncertain destinations.
They are also voyagers,
as irrelevant to the fish below as they are to each other.
Some are crisp and slim, others rough and round,
but the waves treat us all with the same indifference.
A breeze catches me,
its sweet perfume at once tantalizing and insistent
so I move with it until another wave
blocks my cork connections and takes me down a new trough.
It’s my eternal Dance with Life
until I wash onto the shore
to be embedded in the warm, welcoming sand
where I find stillness at last.

I Belong to Myself *Power, Oneness, belonging, love, peace
I belong to myself and accept who I am
both with faults and the good things I’ve done.
I project this belonging to all around me
to connect us together as One.
This knowledge that there’s no difference to see
between people black, brown or white
means we’re all Divine in the Universe
and are equal in God’s sight.
This dream may not be “reality”
in our fractured ego’s world,
where differences are magnified
and prejudice unfurled.
But I know it’s there and I choose to believe
that there’s good in every soul.
I’m grateful for diversity
but belonging is my goal.
For everyone to feel treasured and loved
is my prayerful plea.
If we all believe this can come to pass,
global peace can come to be.

Finding My Groove *Power, surrender, love, Oneness, wisdom
I am more than my body, I am more than my mind.
The life skills I’ve developed help me leave my past behind.
My life’s on autopilot since I let my Spirit lead—
I do not fear the future and I’m not afraid to bleed.
I practice every moment to keep my love in tune
so that when I need its power it feels normal, not a boon.
Nothing’s wrong with me or others that God’s love can’t soothe or fix.
No judgment can affect me if I don’t accept the licks.
Like a fish in the ocean, I’m one with all I know.
I swim with the current since there’s no place else to go.
Each day I feel I’m wiser as my reactions prove.
I’m the best I’ve ever been now that I’ve found my groove.

My Power *Power, consciousness
Nothing in the world has control over me
if I leave the world’s content behind.
I don’t identify with what I see—
only the awareness I find.
I watch the world as it flows by
and remain detached and calm.
I don’t need to win to have freedom and peace—
they’re already my soothing balm.
My mind’s a container for all that I know
but I’m not connected or tied.
I observe, adopt and discard what I wish
so my Power is on the inside.

Cultivating Peace *Power, consciousness
Stillness brings the inner peace
waiting where expected the least.
It soothes me at my darkest hour
and tames my inner beast.
I use gratitude and surrender both
to soothe and fortify
against my negative tendencies
that restrict my intent to fly.
My compassion’s from my grounded state
that keeps me in the “now.”
I cultivate peace to my very core,
and the joy it will allow.
Like a caterpillar that seeks to have
a butterfly’s exquisite wings,
I submit to my chrysalis cage
to emerge and do great things.
